Bulgarograsso (CO), May 2023 – A further study confirms the disinfectant efficacy of steam : the SSD of Odontostomatology of the IRCCS Materno Infantile Burlo Garofolo in Trieste has tested Polti Sani System for the disinfection of three different dental surfaces with more than satisfactory results, published in a scientific article in Applied Sciences in March . Assuming the microbial contamination of 19 dental surfaces complete with lamp, button panel and spittoon (the most exposed to pathogenic microorganisms), the in vitro pilot study* showed that, thanks to the use of Polti Sani System, these same surfaces were disinfected quickly, easily and without the use of chemicals.

This appreciable result was achieved thanks to the delivery of superheated dry saturated steam up to a temperature of 180°C , perpendicular to the surface to be disinfected, maintaining a distance of 0.5 cm from it for a time equal to 30 seconds, making at least one pass at a speed of 10 cm/s. “ The results obtained confirm once again the extraordinary disinfectant effectiveness of Polti Sani System and this pilot study represents a significant scientific contribution to introducing new disinfection protocols with superheated dry saturated steam up to a temperature of 180°C; a rapid, daily and non-toxic system, in short, a valid alternative to chemical disinfectants which, as such, does not even require PPE for users” underlines Stefano Polti , sales manager of the professional division and member of the Board of Directors of Polti Spa.
